IND vs ENG 3rd Test: India's star all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy talked about the lessons he received from Pat Cummins before the ongoing Test series against England and reckoned that he would be ecstatic if his name is edged on the Lord's Honours board. He performed brilliantly with the ball on the first day of the third Test match as he dismissed batters like Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley earlier during the day.

Nitish was the pick among the Indian bowlers as he registered figures of 2/46 and helped the team rattled the host at 251/4. He had worked with Pat Cummins when they were playing for SRH in IPL 2025 and in the post-match press conference he was asked whether he received some help from the Australian captain.

H revealed that he had a word with Cummins as to how he could have bowled brilliantly in Australia and that he had also worked with their bowling coach Morne Morkel on how he could have improved his bowling.

"After the Australia tour, I felt like I need to improve my bowling and consistency is what I look for, and yeah, Pat is my captain, and he's been brilliant in Australia and has asked for some tips and he's been telling me how things would have been done in Australia, how can I go through in Australia. And that's a great experience for me sharing with Pat Cummins and yeah, coming to this tour also I would say like working with Morne Morkel, the bowling coach. He's been great and he's working with me for a couple of weeks and we are seeing good progression in my bowling and I'm enjoying working with him," Nitish told reporters during the post-match press conference.

The star all-rounder also revealed when he was asked if he had enquired from Cummins as to how bowling in England is different from what it is in Australia and Cummins revealed to him that one should look at the weather conditions and then play his natural game. He had also represented India A during the two unofficial match series against England Lions and further revealed that Cummins told him to learn as much as possible in these matches.

"I asked him what's the difference between bowling in Australia and England and since this is my first tour he said it is not going to be different, but you watch the weather conditions and play your game, you will get to know because I was going to play the India A tour so he said just try to learn as much as you can and you," he added.

The dream of the Lord's Honour Board

Nitish also opened up on the one thing that he worked on the most was how to bowl consistently and how all the hard work that he has done in the last few years had helped him.

"OK, as I said before, we've been working on my consistency a lot since. I got some bit of swing both ways and I just want to be consistent over areas so we're working on that I've been working hard on my bowling since the last couple of years like I've been doing a lot of hard work, but I'm just understanding the things that it's just I have to believe in myself because if you believe that's when your hard work comes on point. So that's what I'm realizing," he further said.

He also revealed that he will try to get his name etched on the Lord's honors board.

"I would be so happy if I got named on the board. Everyone will be looking for that opportunity and I'll do my best for that," he concluded.
