New Zealand vs Pakistan T20I: New Zealand and Pakistan are set to face off in a five-match T20I series, beginning on Sunday, March 16, at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch. The Black Caps will be led by Michael Bracewell, stepping in for Mitchell Santner, who is unavailable due to his commitments with Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Fast bowler Matt Henry returns to the squad after missing the Champions Trophy final against India in Dubai. In the pace attack, Will O’Rourke and Kyle Jamieson will feature in the first three matches, while Zak Foulkes and Henry will take over for the last two games. Meanwhile, Kane Williamson has opted out of the series.
Pakistan, on the other hand, will be captained by Salman Ali Agha, as both Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam have been left out of the squad. Shadab Khan, who makes his T20I return after an eight-month absence since the T20 World Cup, has been named vice-captain. Pakistan will be eager to bounce back after their disappointing campaign in the Champions Trophy, where they failed to reach the semifinals.
