NZ vs SL T20I Team Prediction: New Zealand will lock horns with Sri Lanka for the two-match T20I series, where the series opener will be held on Saturday in Dambulla. The visitors are entering this series riding high on confidence after scripting history, where they defeated India by 3-0 in the recently concluded three-match Test series in their backyard.
It was not only just their first Test victory against the Rohit Sharma-led side but they also became one of the few teams to clean sweep a series against India at their home. Mitchell Santner would be leading the team from the front in the T20I series and also played a huge role in their historic Test win against India as he took 13 wickets during the second Test match in Pune. It should be noted here that it would be the first time that the Kiwis would be playing in the shortest format after their disappointing stint at the 2024 T20 World Cup. They will aim to bounce back in this series against Sri Lanka.
At the same time, Sri Lanka thrashed India by 2-0 in the ODI series held in July this year and also defeated New Zealand by 2-0 in the two-match Test series held last month. They will aim to repeat these heroics in the upcoming series. They have been in sublime form for the last few months and will try to give the Kiwis a hard time.
