South Africa and Australia faced off in match 10 of the ODI World Cup 2023 at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Thursday, October 12.
The Proteas emerged victorious as they thrashed Australia by 134 runs to pick up their second win of the tournament.
South Africa were put into bat first but made it count with a stunning opening partnership, with skipper Temba Bavuma and Quinton de Kock adding 108 runs before the former's dismissal in the 20th over.
De Kock kept going and went on to smash his second century of the tournament.
The middle-order provided promising support and helped the Proteas reach 311 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 50 overs. Aiden Markram continued his excellent form and scored a 44-ball 56. Mitchell Starc and Glenn Maxwell picked two wickets each, while Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins took one each.

Chasing the target, Australia had a poor outing as they lost three wickets before the 10th over was completed. They lost the next three by the end of the 18th over and struggled in the middle overs.
Marnus Labuschagne and Mitchell Starc showed some fights as they added 69 runs for the 7th wicket. Labuschagne finished as the highest run-scorer for Australia, with 46 runs off 74 deliveries.
The five-time champions Australia were bowled out for just 177 runs. Kagiso Rabada was the pick of the bowlers for the Proteas with three wickets.
The spinners Keshav Maharaj and Tabraiz Shamsi picked two wickets each. Marco Jansen picked two, while Lungi Ngidi took a wicket as well.
ODI World Cup 2023 Most Runs List
After the first two matches of every team, South Africa's star opener Quinton de Kock is leading the chart for the top run-getter with 209 runs in two games at an average of 104.50 and a strike rate of 110. De Kock has hit 20 fours and eight sixes so far. He has smashed centuries in both the first two matches.
Pakistan's wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan is the next to follow with 199 runs to his name with the help of one century and one half-century at a strike rate of 101.53.
Sri Lanka's Kusal Mendis stands at the third spot, having scored 198 runs in two games at an average of 99 and a strike rate of 166.38.

ODI World Cup 2023 Most Wickets List
New Zealand all-rounder Mitchell Santner is still the leading wicket-taker in the tournament. He has taken seven wickets in two games at an average of 13.71, an economy of 4.80, and a strike rate of 17.14.
Jasprit Bumrah, who picked four wickets in the last match against Afghanistan, is in the second spot at an average of 12.33, an economy of 3.70, and a strike rate of 20.
Matt Henry and Hasan Ali have picked six wickets each while Kagiso Rabada, who was the most successful bowler for South Africa in their recent match against Australia stands in the fifth spot.
He picked up three wickets for 33 runs in six overs and took his tally to five wickets.
