JE Sports Desk: Ahead of October-November mega event, the 2023 ODI World Cup trophy, which is currently on India tour, reached the picturesque landscape of Pangong Tso Lake and Shanti Stupa in Leh.

The quadrennial event is slated to be played in India from October 5 to November 19 across 10 venues. World Champions England will lock horns against New Zealand in the curtain-raiser clash of the tournament at Narendra Modi Stadium while India are set to host five-time winners Australia at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on October 8.

Ten teams are in fray for the coveted title later this year. The much-anticipated India-Pakistan clash is scheduled for Sunday, October 15 in Ahmedabad. Their last encounter in the 2019 World Cup was a high-scoring affair with India achieving a huge victory in Manchester.

The first semi-final will be held on November 15 in Mumbai and the second semi-final will take place on the following day in Kolkata. Both semi-finals will have a reserve day. The summit clash of the event is scheduled to be played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on November 19.

On Wednesday, the World Cup trophy reached Mumbai after the spectacular launch into space. The Tour was launched in spectacular fashion, with the Trophy being launched into the stratosphere, 120,000 feet above the earth, before making a stunning landing at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The 2023 edition of the Trophy Tour will be the biggest by far, giving the fans a chance to connect with the coveted piece of silverware in various countries and cities around the globe.

The trophy commenced its journey on June 27 and will travel to 18 countries around the world, including Kuwait, Bahrain, Malaysia, USA, Nigeria, Uganda, France, Italy, the United States of America and the host country India.

After completing its travel across the globe, the trophy will return to the host nation - India - on September 4.
