India kicked off their campaign with a six-wicket win over Australia in Bengaluru before getting the better of Afghanistan in Delhi.

India then defeated arch-rivals Pakistan by seven wickets in Ahmedabad to maintain their remarkable momentum.

The Men in Blue then outclassed Bangladesh, New Zealand, England, Sri Lanka, South Africa and the Netherlands in their remaining league matches.

Kohli scripted history during India's semifinal match against New Zealand as he smashed his 50th ODI hundred.

India defeated the Blackcaps by 70 runs in a high-scoring contest and made it to the final being undefeated throughout the tournament.

In the final in Ahmedabad, Australia came up with a magnificent bowling effort after winning the toss. They bowled India out for 240 runs in their 50 overs.

Despite a few early fireworks from Indian bowlers, Australia held their nerves and chased down the target with Travis Head playing probably the best innings of his career.

Head smashed 137 runs in 120 balls with the help of 15 fours and four sixes as Australia won the match in just 43 overs.
