PAK vs BAN: Bangladesh batters Mushfiqur Rahim and Mehidy Hasan Miraz have kept their team's hopes of winning the first Test match against Pakistan alive. At stumps on the fourth day, Pakistan was trailing by 94 runs with nine wickets remaining during the second innings. Mushfiqur starred with the bat for Bangladesh but fell short of his well-deserving fourth double ton in the longest format.
The Bangla Tigers didn't have a great start as Naseem Shah dismissed the in-form batter Litton Das, who scored a gritty knock of 56 runs. But then Mehidy and Mustafiqur helped the team bounce back by stitching a partnership of 196 runs for the seventh wicket. At one point it looked like they might concede a huge lead but instead took a lead of 117 runs during the second innings.
Mushfiqur smashed 192 runs off 342 balls, in which he had hit 22 fours and one six but then Mohammed Ali dismissed him. While scoring his century, he surpassed Tamim Iqbal and became Bangladesh's highest run-getter in the longest format in overseas conditions. Mehidy too scored a gritty knock as he scored 77 runs off 179 balls, in which he had smashed six fours. Shoriful Islam's knock of 22 runs off 14 balls helped Bangladesh bounce back later in the innings.

Naseem was the pick among the Pakistani bowlers as he registered figures of 27.3-6-93-3. He dismissed Shoriful and thus ended Bangladesh's innings. Shaheen Shah Afridi was initially struggling to take wickets but later dismissed Mehidy and Hasan Mahmud. He also was seen doing the cradling celebration as he was blessed with a baby boy on Saturday.
Pakistan also had a horrible start as opener Saim Ayub fell cheaply. Ayub, who had scored his maiden half-century during the first innings, was dismissed by Shoriful Islam. Abdullah Shafique and Shan Masood then batted for the next 7.4 overs. At the same time, Bangladesh will aim to take quick wickets and pressurize the Shan Masood-led side on the fifth and the last day.
