Saim Ayub has struck early for Pakistan. He failed to shine in batting but he has provided his side a wicket on the seventh ball of the innings. It was leg-spin that deceived Oman captain Jatinder Singh and hit the stump.

Excellent shot. Haris short arm jabs it over mid-wicket. Picks out the gap and the ball race away for a boundary. Pakistan are on the charge. ,

Dropped. Oh dear. Shakeel is fuming. Farhan slices it towards Kareem at cover point but the fielder puts it down. Massivet let-off for Pakistan and Farhan. That was a regulation catch. ,

That looked plumb. Oman are in dreamland. Faisal strike in the first over as Saim Ayub walks back for a golden duck. Review wasted.

"We would have batted first. It is a historic moment for us to come and rub shoulders with the Asian giants. (on putting the team together) It was a challenge six months ago, but the boys were so hungry to perform and grab the opportunity. It is a spin-oriented side," said the Oman captain. 

"We are going to bat first. It looks like a good pitch and we want to put the scoreboard pressure. We have been playing good cricket for last 2-3 months, we have been playing together from February and the team is coming together, we want to continue that. We have three proper spinners and three all-rounders. When we bat first we want to put above par totals and when bowling first we want to restrict the opposition to chaseable totals," said the Pakistan captain.
