Pakistan National Cricket Team vs South Africa National Cricket Team: In an interesting development on Monday, Pakistan left-arm spinner Asif Afridi became the second-oldest debutant to play Test Cricket for his country. Notably, Pakistan and South Africa are playing a two-match Test series against each another with the former leading the series 1-0 after winning the first Test in Lahore by 93 runs.

However, there has been much intrigue around the debut of Afridi. As per a report in PTI, Afridi, was once banned for spot-fixing as he served a six-month ban. Notably, he was first banned for an year. Still, the sentence got reduced to six months for reasons best known to PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board).

Afridi was roped in over leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed as he joined Pakistan's regular spinners, southpaw Noman Ali and off-spinner, Sajid Khan.

Afridi's selection means that the team management has opted to play two left- arm spinners in the second Test as he will pair with Noman Ali, who is already established and also picked up a 10-wicket haul in Pakistan's 94-run win in the first game in Lahore.

Pakistan are only playing one fast bowler in Shaheen Shah Afridi.

South Africa have also been boosted by the return of left-arm spinner, Keshav Maharaj, who missed the first Test due to fitness issues.

The visitors, after losing the first Test, have also opted to play tall left-arm pacer, Marco Jansen, while leaving out Wiaan Mulder and Prenelan Subrayen.
