The Pakistan pace attack, which has been underperforming in the ongoing World Cup 2023, has been dealt a significant blow as fast bowler Hasan Ali has been sidelined from the upcoming match against South Africa, scheduled for Friday in Chennai. The cricketer was reported to be unwell due to a fever and consequently missed the team's training session on Thursday.

The Pakistan Cricket Board's medical panel has confirmed that Hasan Ali has been advised to take a break and prioritize his recovery to ensure he is fully fit for the remaining games in the tournament. This development comes as a setback for Pakistan, given that Hasan Ali had been recalled as a replacement for the ace pacer Naseem Shah, who had to withdraw from the ODI World Cup 2023 due to a shoulder injury.

However, amidst the disappointment, there is a silver lining for the Pakistani team. On Wednesday, they received positive news as both Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Nawaz were declared fit to participate in the crucial encounter against South Africa.

In a bid to bolster their chances of a dominant performance, Pakistan is contemplating making some strategic changes to their lineup. Fakhar is likely to replace opener Imam-ul-Haq, who has blown hot and cold during the ongoing World Cup.

Additionally, the talented Mohammad Wasim Jr is in contention to replace Hasan Ali in the playing XI for the forthcoming match. This decision underlines Pakistan's commitment to maintaining their competitive edge in the tournament, even in the face of unforeseen challenges.

As cricket enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the showdown between Pakistan and South Africa, the absence of Hasan Ali, a key element in Pakistan's pace arsenal, adds an element of unpredictability to the forthcoming clash.
