DONE AND DUSTED! Muhammad Rohid Khan got run out and Pakistan won the match by 41 runs to seal the place in the Super 4 stage. UAE are knocked out of the tournament after an underhwhelming batting performance tonight. Pakistan (146/9) beat UAE (105 all out in 17.4 overs) by 41 runs

Another one bites the dust here as Shaheen Afridi got the better of Harshit Kaushik for a golden duck. UAE are seven down now and Pakistan are looking relaxed with almost close to Super 4 stage now. UAE 98/7 in 16.2 overs

Haris Rauf back into the attack! He delivered a tight over to keep the pressure on the UAE batters, and on top of that, he claimed the wicket of Dhruv Parashar. The required run rate has pipped 10 and now things will only get difficult for the hosts. UAE 85/4 in 14 overs

A gift in the form of a full toss and Dhruv Parashar accepted it with both hands and slapped it for a boundary here. 10 runs came off the over, and UAE need a couple of more overs like this, otherwise it will be too late for them, and the required run rate is starting to mount. UAE 56/1 in 9 overs

Four runs came off Mohammad Nawaz's over as the pressure is mounting on the UAE, with the game starting to slip away from their reach here. UAE 42/3 in 7 overs

 Saim Ayub into the attack now and got the better of Muhammad Zohaib. The ball turned back in with the angle and hit the timber. Zohaib departs for just 4 as Saim continues to shine with the ball. UAE 37/3 in 5.4 overs

Shaheen Afridi claims the first wicket as Alishan Sharafu is walking back towards the pavilion. He charged down the ground only to edge the ball behind to the stumps. An important wicket for Pakistan. UAE 21/1 in 2.3 overs

Shaheen Afridi once again finishes it off for Pakistan with the bat. He smashed the first two balls for sixes and then followed it up with a four. 16 runs came off the over but Pakistan still failed to cross the 150-run mark. Eight runs came off the 18th over. Mohammad Harris hit the much-needed boundary on the last ball of the over. Their run rate is still under 7 which is horrible in T20Is at this stage of game. PAK 118/7 in 18 overs

 Simranjeet Singh strikes again and this time got the better of Hasan Nawaz to punish Pakistan further in the must-win encounter. There is no stopping the UAE here as Pakistan are already half down, struggling miserably in the middle. PAK 88/5 in 13.4 overs

Another tight over from Haider Ali as only five runs came off the over as nothing is going in Pakistan's favour at the moment. UAE are determined to produce an upset here and they have done well with the ball so far. PAK 75/3 in 12 overs

Fakhar Zaman has taken the onus on himself to play big shots as he smashed back-to-back boundaries in Haider Ali's over. 11 runs came off the over as Pakistan are trying to put things back on track. PAK 61/2 in 9 overs

Excellent over from Haider Ali as only five runs came off the over. Pakistan are feeling the pressure as runs are not coming easily for them at this point. PAK 44/2 in 7 overs

UAE captain Muhammad Waseem wins the toss and elects to bowl first against Pakistan. in Dubai. Andy Pycroft is the match referee for the high-stake clash. 

As per PTI, ICC CEO, Sanjog Gupta informed PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi in a conference call that Andy Pycroft will continue as match referee. The ICC stated that the Zimbabwe official will stay on, citing his strict adherence to all rules and regulations. 

 The PCB is demanding the removal of Andy Pycroft as match referee for the group game against the hosts and is in talks with governing body - the ICC. The Zimbabwean oversaw Sunday's politically charged clash with India, after which the victorious India team refused to shake hands with the Pakistan players. The PCB alleged that Pycroft told Pakistan skipper Salman Agha not to shake hands with Indian counterpart Suryakumar Yadav before the match.

Mohsin Naqvi has just tweeted: "We have asked the Pakistan team to depart for the Dubai Cricket Stadium. Further details to follow."

The PCB appealed the Asia Cup officials to push the UAE-Pakistan game back by an hour as talks continue. According to Crizbuzz, the Paistan squad has now left their hotel and is en route to the stadium. The match is likely to start at 9 p.m. now. 

As per PTI, ex-PCB chairman Ramiz Raja and Najam Sethi are holding talks with Mohsin Naqvi at PCB headquarters seeking a resolution to the ongoing standoff. Despite the discussions match referee Andy Pycroft is expected to stay on as the ICC won't accept Pakistan's demands. 

Andy Pycroft has arrived at the Dubai International stadium and PCB might order the Pakistan team not to play the Asia Cup clash against the against the UAE.

It can also be confirmed that the PCB is mulling over holding a press conference back in Lahore and confirm to the public what their stance is on the entire matter. The controversy was snowballed and the threat of Pakistan pulling out of the Asia Cup seems real with each passing minute. 

The PCB then sent another letter to the ICC, stitcking to its demand that Pycroft be removed. The deadlock between ICC and PCB continues and as a result, the Pakistan board has now asked its team to stay put and not travet to the stadium. 

Pakistan's batting line-up struggled heavily against spin with Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel combining for five wickets. Varun Chakravarthy also tightened leaving Pakistan batters unsettled and unable to find answers to India's spin challenge.
