NZ vs PAK ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Pakistan's star spinner Abrar Ahmed took the first wicket of the ongoing mega-event. The much-awaited clash tournament opener between New Zealand and Pakistan is being held at the National Cricket Stadium in Karachi.

Pakistan skipper Mohammed Rizwan won the toss and chose to bowl first and this decision worked in their favour as Abrar gave the hosts the much-needed breakthrough and took the wicket of New Zealand's star opener Devon Conway.

The incident occurred during the eighth over of the first innings. Abrar had bowled a good lengthy delivery, which was aimed directly towards the stumps. Conway, who thought that it might turn, was seen struggling using his back foot while trying to defend the shot.

But the ball didn't turn and went straight towards the off-stump. Conway was left surprised as his stay at the crease was short-lived since he had scored just 10 runs off 17 balls.

Abrar Ahmed's celebration of this dismissal caught everyone's attention. He was seen making fun of the New Zealand batter with his celebration. He was seen making gestures and made Conway realize that he mistimed the shot.

Speaking of the game, New Zealand is reeling at 73/2 after 16 overs, with Will Young and Daryl Mitchell out there in the middle.
