Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) unveiled Pakistan's jersey for the upcoming ODI World Cup in India, starting on October 5. 'Star Nation Jersey' was presented at an event held at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on Monday.
Babar Azam-led Pakistan are eyeing to add a second ODI World Cup title in the upcoming quadrennial competition in India. Pakistan have only won the World Cup in 1992 under the captaincy of Imran Khan when they defeated England in the summit clash to claim their maiden trophy at Melbourne Cricket Ground.

In the 2019 World Cup, Pakistan failed to secure a semifinal berth under wicket-keeper Sarfaraz Ahmed's captaincy and also suffered a defeat against arch-rivals India at Old Trafford in Manchester.
"The Star Nation Jersey signifies more than a mere piece of apparel; it embodies the profound connection between Pakistan's cricketing heroes and their steadfast supporters. Drawing inspiration from celestial bodies, each star symbolises brilliance, aspiration, and the radiant glow of cricketing achievements. This design philosophy encapsulates the spirit of cricketing excellence, resonating deeply with every Pakistani cricket enthusiast," PCB said in a release.
Pakistan will be participating in the Asia Cup 2023 from August 30 where they are scheduled to take on Nepal in the tournament opener in Multan. The much-awaited clash against India will take place in Kandy on September 2.
Pakistan will open their ODI World Cup 2023 campaign against the Netherlands at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on October 6 and their match against India will be played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 14.
Zaka Ashraf, Chairman of the PCB Management Committee said, “The Star Nation Jersey bears witness to the enduring bond between our cricketers and the passionate fans who stand by them through every match. This jersey encapsulates our rich cricketing heritage and the luminous future that awaits.”
