SL-W vs PAK-W Women's World Cup 2025: Pakistan ended their stint at the ongoing mega event on a disappointing note after their last group stage match against Sri Lanka in Colombo was abandoned owing to incessant rain. They haven't won a single match and were the only team in this tournament to stay winless.
They are lying at the seventh position in the points table after scoring three points and a poor NRR of -0.58 as they had scored all these points from their washed-out matches against teams like Sri Lanka, Australia, and England. If Bangladesh can beat India in their next match, then the Women in Green will finish in last position.
Since the match was a dead rubber, the Sri Lankan team still made two changes in their playing XI as Dewmi Vihanga replaced Udeshika Prabodhani, whereas Pakistan made two changes as well, as Yeda Aroob Shah and Eyman Fatima replaced Sidra Nawaz and Fatima Sana.
The match between Pakistan women and Sri Lanka women was already delayed by rain, and the officials then reduced it to 34 34-over match. Sri Lanka had won the toss and chose to bat first, where Omaima Sohail and Muneeba Ali gave them a flying start.
Omaima had hit a four in Sugandika Kumari's overs as the ball went towards covers, and Pakistan were 18/0, and then it rained again. They did begin for a while, but another spell of heavy rainfall led the umpires to call off the match.
