GT vs RR IPL 2025: Gujarat Titans have become one of the favorites to lift the trophy in the first half of the season on the back of their brilliant performances. The ex-champions have now won four of their last five matches and have scored eight points and are currently the table toppers. One of the biggest reasons for them having a brilliant campaign till now due to their three brilliant bowlers R Sai Kishore and fast bowlers Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna.
They have taken 28 wickets after bowling in 57.2 overs and a staggering average rate of 7.33. All three of them are also on the list of the top 10 highest wicket-getters till now, where Sai Kishore is lying in the second position after taking 10 wickets till now.
The Shubman Gill-led side had beaten RR by 58 runs as they had posted a mammoth target of 217 runs. Their skipper Shubman Gill heaped praises on the bowlers and thanked them for making his job easier.
Parthiv Patel, who is the assistant coach of GT also heaped praises on the bowlers for rising to the occasion in all the games and described Sai Kishore as one of the best spinners during this season.
“When you win by 50-odd runs on a wicket like this, every bowler came in and executed their plans well. Siraj is bowling well, and Prasidh Krishna has been phenomenal throughout the tournament. Sai Kishore is probably the best spinner in the tournament so far, the way he has bowled, how brave he is, and bowling in difficult conditions" Patel told reporters during the post-match press conference.
“It’s good to see after every game a new bowler stepping up. Bowlers win you games batters set it up," he said.
Patel further revealed that the team management hasn't specified roles for any player.
“Nobody has a specific role, we are very flexible as a team. We go by conditions and situations," he added.
Star all-rounder Washington, who played his first game for the Gujarat-based franchise against SRH and scored a match-winning knock of 49 runs wasn't included in the playing XI against RR.
“He (Sundar) was part of our playing eleven, we wanted to see the situation and we always have done that, even in the last game when two wickets fell early he came in and batted. For our team, it is about understanding the situation and the conditions and we felt that we might need a fourth seamer in the second innings. If we would have lost a couple of wickets early, then it would have been a different story but we had enough batters who could do the job for us," he concluded.
