Australian ODI and Test Captain Pat Cummins and swashbuckling batter Travis Head were reportedly once approached by an IPL franchise to leave the Australian National Cricket Team to play in franchise T20 games around the world. As per a report, the duo were offered a staggering 10 million dollars (Rs 58 crore) each as part of the annual deal. However, both these Cricketers turned down the offer to remain with the national side.
The report in The Age stated that the deals were informally communicated to both players to participate in various T20 franchise tournaments. The deal didn't go through, but it pushed the idea of privatising Australia's T20 Cricket league that would result in a massive hike in players' salaries.
The report further stated that discussions have already started to take place among Cricket Australia, the state associations, and the players’ union.
