Pakistan vs Sri Lanka: After an alleged militant attack in Pakistan's capital city of Islamabad, the security for the visiting Sri Lankan cricket team has been ramped up. A report in PTI suggested that PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) chief Mohsin Naqvi, who also serves as the Interior Minister in the government, spoke with officials of the Sri Lankan team, assuring them of foolproof security.
Amidst rising tensions with Afghanistan, the Taliban government has been accused by Pakistan of allowing the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) to use its land for carrying out terror attacks in their country.
On Tuesday, a suicide bomber blew himself up outside a judicial complex in Islamabad, resulting in the deaths of 12 individuals and numerous injuries. At the same time, in Wana, located in Northern Pakistan, security forces successfully thwarted a terror attack on the Wana Cadet College and safely evacuated approximately 300 students.

Federal Minister for Information Ata Tarar praised the security forces as he stated that another attack similar to the Peshawar school attack was on the cards.
“That is why Mohsin Naqvi personally went to the stadium and met with the visiting team members and assured them they would be safe and secure," the source said.
In March 2009, TTP terrorists attacked the Sri Lankan team bus near the Gaddafi Stadium, which led to the cessation of international cricket in Pakistan for nearly a decade as foreign teams refused to visit due to security concerns.

“Security has been beefed up with Pakistan Army and the paramilitary rangers now deputed to monitor security for the visiting players and officials," the source said.
After playing three ODIs in Rawalpindi, Sri Lanka will participate in a T20 triangular series involving Zimbabwe from November 17 to 29.
