The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a complete review of its international and domestic cricket aspects, seeking to restore the country's cricketing glory, as per ESPNcricinfo.

The assessment procedure will begin with a "connection camp" meeting in Lahore on September 23, attended by coaches Gary Kirsten and Jason Gillespie, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi, and red-ball captain Shan Masood and red-ball cricket Babar Azam, who are also central contract holders and team captains.

The Pakistan Cricket Board's "connection camp" aims to rebuild the country's cricketing system, from international teams to grassroots levels, to manage the worrisome drop in performance across all formats.

The national team's labours are clear in their defeat to progress in current ICC tournaments, including the ODI World Cup and T20 World Cup, and successive Test defeats to Bangladesh at home. As a result, Pakistan has plunged to eighth position in the ICC Test Rankings, their lowest spot in over five decades, since 1965.

According to PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, the connection camp is a vital initial step towards restoring the national team's luck.

PCB is overhauling its domestic cricket structure, presenting the rebranded Champions One-Day Cup, scheduled to take place in Faisalabad from September 12 to 29. This tournament will run together with the connection camp.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi is hopeful that this tournament will help reload the domestic talent pool, and in convergence with the connection camp, deliver a prospect to redefine the board's idea and plan for reviving Pakistan's cricketing serendipity.
