The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is reportedly dissatisfied with leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed for his failure to adhere to the rehabilitation instructions provided by the medical panel. Abrar missed the entire Test series in Australia due to a suspected nerve-related problem, and the medical panel's report highlighted his negligence in the rehabilitation process, starting from the World Cup in India last year.

As per a report in PTI, PCB is considering some form of reprimand or punishment for Abrar due to his alleged carelessness, which had significant repercussions for the Pakistan team.

Without his services, Pakistan was whitewashed 3-0 by Australia in the Test series. Abrar, who has now been ruled out for the T20 series in New Zealand due to a suspected sciatica problem, has been sent home, and his rehabilitation is being monitored at the national cricket academy.

Sciatica is a condition characterized by nerve pain resulting from irritation of the sciatic nerve, which extends from the lower back through the hips and buttocks down each leg.

The saga began when Abrar first complained of pain in his lower side during the team's stay in Hyderabad, India. Following a diagnosis, suspicion arose about a potential sciatica problem, leading to a prescribed rehabilitation program. However, during the World Cup, when Abrar again experienced side pain, it was discovered that he was not diligently following the rehabilitation program.

Despite advice from the team management and doctor, the issue resurfaced during the warm-up game in Canberra, Australia, where it was revealed that Abrar was neglecting his exercises and other instructions.
