Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the ICC Women's World Cup-winning India women's national cricket team and felicitated the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side at his Lok Kalyan Marg, Delhi residence on Wednesday.
Harmanpreet's team was honoured at the PM's residence after their record-breaking World Cup win, where they defeated South Africa in the summit clash at Dr DY Patil Stadium.
The Indian women's cricket team, dressed in formal attire, carried the World Cup trophy as they arrived at the Prime Minister's residence.

Continuing his tradition of felicitating and praising the athletes of all sports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi warmly welcomed Harmanpreet Kaur and the Indian women's cricket team to his residence.
The Indian women's cricket team had engraved their name in golden letters in the nation's sporting history with a resounding 52-run win over South Africa, ending a long wait for glory.
The Prime Minister's meeting with the Indian women's cricket team kicked off at 6 pm at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, stretching over a couple of hours.
Harmanpreet's team, along with head coach Amol Mazumdar, was accompanied by their support staff, exuding confidence and joy.
In a warm gesture, the Indian Women's cricket team gifted Prime Minister Narendra Modi a specially signed jersey, bearing the name 'Namo 1'.
PM Modi lauded the players for their “remarkable resilience and comeback” after enduring a tough phase marked by three consecutive defeats in the ICC World Cup.
India captain Harmanpreet recollected meeting the Prime Minister in 2017 without the trophy, stating that now that they had met him with the trophy, they would wish to meet him more often.

Vice-Captain Smriti Mandhana said the PM had encouraged them and had been a motivation for all of them.
The team won its first global trophy -- the 50-over World Cup -- after beating South Africa by 52 runs in the final in Navi Mumbai on Sunday.
