PBKS vs RR IPL 2025: The ongoing season of the IPL has finally resumed after almost 10 days, where the Rajasthan Royals are currently facing the Punjab Kings during the 59th match. Both teams have made some changes to their playing XI owing to the unavailability of some players, and thus, Mitchell Owen finally made his IPL debut.

Mitchell Owen's Rise From Tasmania To IPL

The young Australian all-rounder has achieved a lot in his short career so far. He grabbed everyone's attention by scoring a brilliant hundred during the BBL 2024-25 summit clash and performed consistently as an explosive top-order batter. He has scored 452 runs after playing in 11 matches at a staggering average of 45 and a strike rate of more than 200, and he has also featured in SA20 and PSL.

He does have the experience of batting as a middle-order batter across formats, and the PSL franchise Peshawar Zalmi did use him like that this year. He is considered Australian cricket's upcoming talent and is Glenn Maxwell's replacement in the PBKS squad. Apart from his explosive batting, he can also bowl off-break.

He has played in first-class matches and List A cricket and will aim to impress everyone during his debut IPL match. Unlike the other Australians, he has made himself available for PBKS' remaining matches. The Shreyas Iyer-led side has scored 15 points till now and is just one win away from inching closer towards qualifying for the playoffs.
