Rajasthan Royals Players List IPL Auction 2025: All-rounder Nitish Rana, a former Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) player, found his new home with the Rajasthan Royals (RR) for Rs 4.20 crore in the capped all-rounders set on the second day of the IPL 2025 Auction at the Abadi Al Johar Arena on Monday. With a base price of Rs 1.50 crore, Rana became the centre of a fierce tussle between Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), and Rajasthan Royals.

RR is led by head coach Rahul Dravid. Retaining a strong core of six players, the inaugural IPL champions aim to overcome past inconsistencies and reclaim their title-winning glory.Known for nurturing young talent and playing fearless cricket, RR has reached the final only once since their triumphant 2008 campaign.

Sanju Samson, retained for Rs 18 crore, continues to serve as RR's captain and the backbone of their batting lineup. Yashasvi Jaiswal, also retained for Rs 18 crore, can be seen as the face of RR’s future with explosive performances at the top order.

Riyan Parag, valued at Rs 14 crore, retains the franchise’s faith. Middle-order batter Dhruv Jurel, also retained for Rs 14 crore, has been a dependable performer and a key part of RR's plans for IPL 2025.

Shimron Hetmyer, retained for Rs 11 crore, remains a crucial match-winner with his ability to turn games around in the death overs. Meanwhile, Sandeep Sharma has been retained for Rs 4 crore.

Under the IPL 2025 mega auction, a total of 574 players including 366 Indians and 208 overseas are going under the hammer. The two-auction is happening in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on November 24 and 25. It's the fifth IPL mega auction and the first one since 2022. The first-day auction will commence at 3:00 PM on Sunday, November 24.

IPL 2025 mega auction rules

Each team is allotted a total purse of 120 crore to build a squad with a maximum strength of 25 players but a minimum of 18. A maximum of eight of these can be overseas recruits.
