Ranji Trophy 2025: All the star Indian players have failed to create any impact in their return to the ongoing domestic tournament, Ravindra Jadeja starred for Saurashtra in Rajkot. He had taken 12 wickets and led his team to a huge win against Delhi in Rajkot.
Ravindra Jadeja has been playing continuously for Saurashtra in domestic tournaments. Due to a long injury layoff, Jadeja bounced back to form in the Ranji Trophy last year.
He was familiar with the pitch conditions as he rattled Delhi's batting lineup at a spin-friendly pitch along with Dharmendrasinh Jadeja. Both the spinners took 16 wickets amongst them and helped Saurashtra win the match by 10 wickets as they chased down the target of 12 runs quite comfortably during the second innings.
Jadeja also made a significant contribution with the bat as he scored a gritty knock of 38 runs off 36 balls during the first innings.
By taking 12 wickets, Jadeja took his first-class wicket count beyond 550.
PANT FAILS Twice
At the same time, Rishabh Pant was seen struggling both innings. He was dismissed after scoring just one run during the first innings as he mistimed a sweep shot off 26 balls and he then scored 17 runs during the second innings as Ravindra Jadeja took his wicket.
Saurashtra posted a respectable target of 271 runs on the back of Harvik Desai's 93 during the first innings and was leading by 83 runs. Delhi were skittled out for 188 runs during the first innings as they were rattled by Ravindra Jadeja's bowling prowess.
Delhi's woeful batting continued during the second innings as they were bundled out for just 94 runs, where Jadeja took seven wickets.
Delhi skipper Ayush Badoni played the role of warrior. He had scored 60 runs during the first innings and then scored 44 during the second innings.
Virat Kohli was initially supposed to play in this match but pulled out owing to an injury. There are high chance that he will play in the next match against Railways, which will begin on January 30.
Ravindra Jadeja will be riding high on confidence when he turns up for the ODI series against England next month. He is also part of India's Champions Trophy squad, which will startfrom February 19.
