Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif, who is often vocal with his criticism of the Pakistan Cricket Board and its actions, has landed himself in trouble after the country's cybercrime agency launched a probe against him. Notably, former captain Rashid Latif slammed PCB's current chief Mohsin Naqvi over changing the captains frequently, labelling it as a divide-and-rule policy. As per a report in PTI, NCCIA (National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency)spokesperson Najeebullah Hasan confirmed that Latif "has recorded his statement in two inquiries against him in Islamabad and Lahore," a report in PTI stated on Wednesday.

"Former wicket keeper Rashid Latif has recorded his statement in two inquiries against him in Islamabad and Lahore," Pakistan's National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) spokesperson Najeebullah Hasan said in a statement issued on Wednesday.

Hasan pointed out that the investigation was initiated on the back of a complaint by PCB senior legal manager Syed Ali Naqvi.

Latif had criticised the PCB for its captaincy decisions, posting on X: "Shaheen Shah Afridi named ODI captain. Divide and rule policy is a political strategy to gain and maintain power by creating and exploiting divisions within a population, such as religious, ethnic, cricket teams or class differences."

Latif had also stated that Pakistan is the "only country incapable of producing a competent captain." In a recent interview with an English daily, he discussed the intensity surrounding matches between India and Pakistan, stating, "There is significant tension between India and Pakistan, which has now manifested on the field as well."

He further pointed out that developments off the field were contributing to the discomfort during the tournament, saying, "I don't know what is going on."

Latif also reflected on the cricketing gap between the two sides. "In T20, anything can happen But if we look in hindsight, India is a strong team," he said, pointing to India's domestic structure and the IPL, and noting, "There is a gulf of difference between IPL and PSL."
