RCB vs CSK, IPL 2024: Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s star batter Virat Kohli said that he is looking forward to playing with MS Dhoni once again as RCB is all set to clash against CSK in their IPL 2024 match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday. Kohli admitted that this might be the last time that he would be playing along with Dhoni. It is speculated that MS Dhoni might announce his retirement after IPL 2024.

Both Kohli and Dhoni last played for India together during the 2019 ODI World Cup semifinal against New Zealand in Manchester. Kohli has always shown his respect and admiration for Dhoni, and both share a great bond.

"For fans to see him (Dhoni) play in any stadium in India is a big thing. Me & him playing again, maybe for the last time, you never know – that is a special thing. We have had some great memories, some great partnerships for India, it’s a great occasion for fans to see us together," Kohli was quoted as saying on Jio Cinema.

Both CSK and RCB are vying for the fourth spot at the points table, which is up for grabs in the race to the playoffs. The Faf Du Plessis-led side should defeat CSK by 18 runs or chase down the target with 11 balls remaining to qualify for the playoffs.

‘Muscle memory’

Kohli also talked about how MS Dhoni dealt with criticism and helped the team win crucial matches in pressure situations. "People used to say the same about Mahi bhai (Mahendra Singh Dhoni). ‘Why is he taking the game to 20th over or 50th over.’ But how many matches did he finish for India! He’s probably the only person who knows what he’s doing! And he’s finishing the game from there. For me, that’s muscle memory. He knows if he takes the match till the last over, he’ll win the game," Kohli further said.

Kohli is leading in the orange cap race, after scoring 661 runs at an average of 66.10 and a strike rate of 155.16, which includes five half-centuries and a century under his kitty.
