RCB vs DC IPL 2026: Royal Challengers Bengaluru made a stunning start with the ball to leave Delhi Capitals in deep trouble at 7/4 inside the first three overs in their IPL 2026 clash at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on April 27.

After winning the toss and opting to field, RCB struck almost immediately, with their pace duo of Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar exploiting the early conditions to devastating effect. The new ball offered movement and bounce, and both bowlers made full use of it to dismantle Delhi's top order before they could settle.

DC vs RCB: Hazelwood Sets The Tone Earlier

Hazlewood set the tone in his opening over, removing KL Rahul cheaply for just 1 off 3 balls, with a sharp catch taken behind the stumps. He then struck again to dismiss Sameer Rizvi for a golden duck, putting immediate pressure on the hosts. The Australian quick's accuracy and ability to hit hard lengths made scoring extremely difficult for the Delhi batters.

At the other end, Bhuvneshwar Kumar delivered a masterclass in swing bowling. He picked up two wickets in his opening spell while conceding just two runs, keeping the pressure firmly on DC. His disciplined line and subtle seam movement proved too much for the opposition's inexperienced middle order, including the dismissal of debutant Sahil Parakh, who was unable to open his account.

Within a matter of overs, Delhi Capitals found themselves in complete disarray at 7/4, one of their worst starts in recent IPL history. With four wickets down and barely any runs on the board, the responsibility of rebuilding the innings fell on Axar Patel and Nitish Rana, who were left with the daunting task of stabilising the innings and preventing further collapse.

Delhi had made three changes to their playing XI ahead of the match, bringing in Kyle Jamieson and Dushmantha Chameera alongside debutant Parakh. However, the reshuffled lineup failed to withstand RCB's early onslaught. In contrast, Bengaluru stuck with their winning combination, a decision that paid immediate dividends.
