Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Kolkata knight riders: Rain in Bengaluru can play a spoilsport at the M Chinnaswamy stadium, where the Royal Challengers Bengaluru will lock horns with Kolkata Knight Riders as the IPL 2025 is all set to resume on Saturday, May 17. Rain did play a spoilsport in a few matches of the ongoing season, like the KKR vs PBKS clash and the SRH vs DC.
Two other matches were also affected by rain, but they were completed after a short delay.
After scoring 16 points under their kitty and with three more group stage matches to play, the Rajat Patidar-led side needs to win just one match to qualify for the playoffs. But things aren't quite the same for the defending champions KKR, who need to win their last two remaining matches and hope that the other results fall in their favour.
In such a situation, if the IPL 2025 clash between RCB and KKR is washed out, then the playoff chances of both teams would be dented.
Bengaluru rain & weather forecast on May 17
As per Accuweather.com, Bengaluru will experience overcast conditions on Saturday, and there are high chances that rain will play a spoilsport at the time of the match. Although the temperature would be around 31 degrees Celsius in the afternoon, it would be reduced to 22 degrees by the time of the match.
There is 84% precipitation on the day and 56% at the time of the match. There is a 50% chance of rainfall on the day and a 34% chance in the evening. Due to this, the hosts weren't able to attend their training session on Thursday.
Tim David turns Chinnaswamy into a splash pool
The M Chinnaswamy stadium became a swimming pool, where most of the RCB players were seen taking shelter. But Tim David had other plans, who was wearing just shorts and was unfazed by the heavy rainfall, and was seen diving into the water-clogged cover, and it thus became a splash pool. When David entered RCB's dressing room, his fellow teammates welcomed him with applause.
