RCB vs RR Highlights, IPL 2023: Royal Challengers Bangalore Beat Rajasthan Royals By Seven Runs

Rajasthan failed to chase 190 as Royal Challengers Bangalore win the match by seven runs. 

For RCB, Harshal Patel bagged three wickets and successfully defended 20 runs in the last over. 

Jorel hits six as Rajasthan get 13 from it. The last over will be crucial for both teams as RCB will defend 20 runs. 

Rajasthan lose Shimron Hetmyer (3) cheaply in the last over as Prabhudessai nails direct-hit for RCB.  Dhruv Jorel and R Ashwin in the middle to face the final two overs.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) 157/5 after 18 overs.

The momentum has been shifted toward Bangalore after Rajasthan lose Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson fall in quick intervals.

Devdutt Padikkal falls after scoring 52 off 34 balls including one six and seven fours. Sanju Samson is the new batter in the middle.

The partnership between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Devdutt Padikkal is building a solid partnership for the second wicket as both batters are hitting regular boundaries to keep up with the required run rate.

Jaiswal is giving good start to Rajasthan after losing Buttler early in the powerplay.

Mohammed Siraj bags the early wicket for Bangalore. Opener Jos Buttler departs for a duck as Rajasthan suffer an early blow in the powerplay.

Glenn Maxwell's 77 and Faf du Plessis' 62 guide RCB to 189/9 in 20 overs.

For Rajasthan, Trent Boult and Sandeep Sharma scalped two wickets each.

Maxwell is only dealing in sixes and fours after completing his fifty as RCB are in a strong position to post 200 plus total from here. 43 runs have come in the last three overs for the home side. 

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) 128/2 after 12 overs.

Maxwell continues his onslaught against Ashwin in the final over of the powerplay. He smashes six and four in the over to make it 12 from it. He is batting with a strike rate of over 250 today. 

After losing Virst Kohli on a golden duck and Shabaz Ahmed on 2 early in the game, Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell are building a strong partnership for the third wicket and taking RCB forward in the powerplay overs.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) 50/2 after 5 overs.

"It was pretty easy to choose, we'd have batted first. This wicket looks dry and it will get drier and might break up first. I didn't say that to Sanju, but I'm very happy to bat first. We both get to do what we wanted. They informed me last time saying I might have to captain a couple of games, nothing I'm not used to doing. So I'm happy to step in, ready to continue from whatever Faf has been doing. The team has responded well, we are playing with a lot of energy and that showed in the last game. One change for us, Wayne Parnell is out and he will be replaced by David Willey. Faf continues to play as an impact sub," said RCB captain Virat Kohli at the toss.

"We'll bowl first. Looking at the conditions, our side and their side. So we'd prefer bowling. The dressing room is simple, honest and we need to respect the way we are playing. We are starting with the same XI, might add someone later on," said RCB captain Sanju Samson at the toss. 

Rajasthan Royals have won the toss and opted to bowl first against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the day match. 

In 27 games between the two sides, RCB have 13 and RR 12, with two encounters yielding no result. RR have the upper hand at Chinnaswamy, with 4 wins - to RCB's 2 - in 8 games.

"I've always been very lucky with him (Virat Kohli). Seven or eight (7) times I've got him, but in that 4 to 5 times I've been lucky. Those days reviews were not there, so I got lucky with the umpire's decisions. Sometimes he played and edged it down the leg side to the keeper. So yeah, I've been lucky," said  Sandeep Sharma ahead of taking on RCB.
