RCB vs SRH, IPL 2024: Sunrisers Hyderabad batter Travis Head slammed the fourth-fastest century in the IPL history against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on Monday. The Australian batter was at his destructive best as he reached the three-figure mark in just 39 balls.

The opening batter hammered eight sixes and nine fours to reach the milestone, the fastest century of the season. He became the fourth batter after Jos Buttler, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma to score a hundred in the ongoing edition of the tournament.

Invited to bat first, Abhishek Sharma and Head gave a flying start to SRH and utilised powerplay overs with their attacking knocks. The left-handed swashbuckling batter was in a different mood from the start of his innings. He smashed four and a six against Reece Topley in the second over to show his hitting aggression. He continued the momentum against Lockie Ferguson in the powerplay and hit the pacer for two consecutive sixes before scoring the four on the last ball of the over.

He replicated the same against Yash Dayal in the final of the powerplay and completed his fifty in just 20 balls.

Head intensified his carnage and became more lethal after completing his fifty. In the seventh over, he struck 4, 6, 6 to add 21 runs from Will Jacks' over.

The southpaw continued his onslaught in the middle overs to guide SRH to 150 in the 12th over. In the same over he reached his maiden century of the tournament.

In the next over, he was removed by Ferguson for 102 in 41 balls. He batted with a strike rate of 248.78 to set the foundation for another big total for SRH in the season.

Chris Gayle has the record of scoring the fastest century in IPL in 30 balls against Pune Warriors in 2013. Yusuf Pathan is the second-fastest to slam a hundred in 37 balls (against Mumbai Indians in 2010) while David Miller achieved the feat in 38 balls against RCB in 2013.
