RCB vs UPW Highlights, WPL 2023: UP Warriorz Crush RCB By 10 Wickets

"In the last four games it's been happening. We start well and then lose a cluster of wickets. I take the blame as well. Need to get runs on the board for the bowlers to defend. Overs 7-15 we spoke about getting 7-8 per over. Didn't work out today. We're trying to get a balanced team. Let's see how it goes. I've tried to speak to all the players about it. We'll have to keep doing it. Last one week has been really tough on the team. Lots to reflect, lots to work on. Should admit last week has been really tough. Lot of people have reached out to me. Alyssa Healy (96*) missed the much-deserved century as she single-handedly guided her side to a thumping 10-wicket win over Royal Challengers Bangalore at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

Alyssa Healy just needs 10 more runs to complete her century in the WPL, the first in the competition. UPW 127/0 after 12 overs.

Healy hits four consecutive boundaries off Renuka Singh as UP near the 100-run mark inside 10 overs. UPW 97/0 after 9 overs.

Devika Vaidya and Alyssa Healy give the perfect start for UP Warriorz in the powerplay. UPW 32/0 after 3 overs.

Sophie Ecclestone picked four wickets to wrap RCB's innings for 138 in 19.3 overs. Ellyse Perry top-scored fro RCB with 54 runs. 

RCB have lost three wickets in a matter of seconds as Ellyse Perry (52), Erin Burns (12) and Richa Ghosh (1) within five balls. RCB 138/8 in 19 overs. 

Ecclestone has ended a 15-run brief knock of Shreyanka Patil. In search of a big hit, the batter mistimed the ball and found the fielder on the edge of the 25-yard circle. RCB 117/5 after 15 overs.

Ellyse Perry brings up her first fifty of the tournament off 35 balls. She is taking RCB to a big total on this used pitch. RCB 114/4 after 14 overs.

Ecclestone clean up Devine (36) in the 9th over and broke the crucial second-wicket partnership with Perry. Kanila Ahuja walks in to bat at no.4. RCB 77/2 after 9 overs.

Perry and Devine are stitching a quick partnership after losing their skipper cheaply. Both batters are looking confident in the middle and taking on bowlers.

"Pretty sure we wanted to bat first. But we get to bowl first. Hopefully we'll restrict them to something we can chase. Pitch is not going to change too much. Shabnim Ismail misses out, Grace Harris is back in, much to everyone's delight. You look at the other night, we lost by 40, but if someone was there with Tahlia, we could've got closer," said Alyssa Healy at toss.

Smriti Mandhana said at the toss, "Would like to bat first. Looks a good wicket. We've seen in the tournament a good total on the board helps. As a bowling unit, we had a word about bowling plans with regard to the short boundaries. Not the way we wanted to start, but it's a long tournament, want to keep our heads high."

"Second match on this pitch. Still a bit of a green tinge, and still pretty hard. It's going to have good bounce and carry. But it's starting to dry out a little bit. We can see a little bit of wear which means there could be something for the spinners," said Mel Jones and Julia Price.

"I think every team is realising that to bowl on these wickets… they are batters' paradise to be fair. There is no seam, there is no swing, quick outfield. It's a real test as a bowling unit and I don't think any team has been able to crack it yet. This is an area we improved on but we can get a lot more disciplined in terms of execution," said Royal Challengers' Sophie Devine after the loss to Giants.
