RCB-W vs GG-W, WPL 2025: Gujarat Giants women defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru women by 6 wickets in the match 12 of the Women's Premier League 2025 at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Thursday, February 27.

Gujarat chased down the 126-run target in just the 16.3 overs to clinch only their second win of the season. They now have four points under their belt after five matches.

Skipper Ashleigh Gardner came up with yet another special performance with the bat and smashed her second fifty against RCB this season. Gardner played a 58-run knock in just 31 balls on the back of six fours and three sixes.

Chasing the target, GG lost first two wickets inside the powerplay as Beth Mooney (17) and Dayalan Hemalatha (11) departed cheaply. Harleen Deol also managed to score just 5 runs.

The recovery was made by skipper Gardner and Phoebe Litchfield as they stitched a 51-run stand for the fourth wicket. Litchfield played an unbeaten and crucial knock of 30 runs in just 21 balls as she smashed three fours and a six.

"Definitely, in the last couple of games we haven't batted the way we wanted to but credit goes to the bowlers today. Our bowlers stepped up, chasing a low total gave us the freedom. The first game, probably we should have won, we couldn't defend 20,0, but today's win was pleasing. It was nice to win the game and take the positivity forward. It's a trend of the WPL (on chasing) at the moment, it's nice to not have much dew here," Gardner said after being adjudged as the Player of the Match.

Earlier, GG produced a remarkable bowling effort to restrict the home side to 125/7 in their 20 overs with Tanuja Kanwar and Deandra Dottin taking two wickets each whereas skipper Gardner and Kashvee Gardner ended up picking a wicket each as well.

Kanika Ahuja was the top run-getter for the hosts with a 33-run knock whereas Raghvi Bist (22) and Georgia Wareham (20) came up with a little contributions as well.
