KKR vs SRH, IPL 2024 Final: Ex-Kolkata Knight Riders skipper and current mentor Gautam Gambhir met his former teammate Manvinder Bisla hours before the IPL 2024 final. KKR will face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the summit clash at the Chepauk stadium on Sunday. Just before the high-octane clash, Gambhir caught up with Bisla, who played a huge role in their emphatic win in 2012.

Bisla had played a huge role in the 2012 IPL final where KKR won their maiden title. The wicket-keeper-batter played a match-winning knock of 89 runs off 48 balls to help KKR chase down the mammothe target of 191.

KKR took to their official X account and posted the picture of the duo, with the captaion, “The reunion of our champion Knights.”

The 2012 title clash was KKR's maiden IPL final and they were playing against defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at their home ground. They were in deep trouble after skipper Gautam Gambhir was dismissed in the first over. Bisla then helped his team fight back with his crucial knock.

He stitched a match-winning partnership of 136 runs off 82 balls with Jacques Kallis, who himself had scored 69 runs. The match went to the last over where they needed nine runs to win. Manoj Tiwary faced Dwayne Bravo and he hit two consecutive fours to help his team lift their maiden title.

The Gautam Gambhir-led side won the match by five wickets with two balls remaining and lifted their maiden trophy. And two years after that they again won the trophy under the same captain in 2014.

KKR a win away from third IPL title

It has been 10 years since KKR won their last title and three years since they last reached the title clash. Under Gautam Gambhir’s guidance, KKR have improved a lot after finishing in seventh position last year. They topped the group stage and beat SRH by eight wickets in the Qualifier 1. They are now just one win away of winning their third title. They will aim to repeat the 2012 heroics at the MA Chidambaram Stadium while facing SRH in the final.
