IND vs BAN, 2nd Test: Indian batters have jumped on the trend of trying their hands at bowling lately. And star wicket-keeper batter Pant is the latest to join this trend. He became the new spinner for Shubman Gill by bowling him leg-spin. The BCCI took to its official X account and shared a video, where KL Rahul was involved in a hilarious banter with Pant and asked him as to whether he bowled at the DPL 2024, to which he replied, "Aur kya, ek hee run chahiye tha.” Pant wore his batting pads while bowling to Gill and it looked like he had fun as he said, "Kya beat karaya yaar.”

Shubman Gill, who batted in Pant's over, reacted to his bowling and said, "Tagdi practice karwayi thi tune, Rishabh.” The environment in the Indian team dressing room is quite positive as the players are quite relaxed and are always seen having fun, even during intense practice sessions. Black soil would be used at Kanpur pitch due to its slow turn and low bounce, Pant might have given Gill a good training session. The Rohit Sharma-led side landed in Kanpur on Tuesday and immediately began attending training training sessions.

New spinner in town?

The Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill bond

The bond that Gill and Pant share is known to all and was quite evident when they helped the team win the first match by 280 runs against the Najmul Hossain Shanto-led side at the Chepauk stadium. They stitched a match-winning partnership of 167 runs during the second innings and also scored hundreds each. Gill scored his fifth Test hundred by staying unbeaten on 119 whereas Pant bounced back to the longest format by scoring 109 runs.

This was his sixth Test hundred and he also leveled MS Dhoni's record of scoring the most centuries in this format. Their knocks helped the team post a mammoth target of 515 runs during the fourth inning. R Ashwin took a six-for and helped the team skittle Bangladesh out for just 234 runs.

"I think one thing that I understood over time is that when you have a great relationship off the field, it helps to bat with that guy. When you have a great bond outside the field, you understand how the other person is thinking, how the game is moving around, and we were having fun, having fun chats,” Pant talked about the bond he shares with Gill.
