IPL 2025: India's star wicket-keeper batter and DC skipper Rishabh Pant slammed a fan for spreading fake news that he would be joining RCB in IPL 2025. As per the user, RCB reached out to Pant with a captaincy position for the next season. However, according to a report, the RCB management dismissed these claims as Virat Kohli was not interested in playing with him.

Putting an end to all these speculations, Pant dismissed all these rumors and also urged them to stop spreading fake news. It should be noted here that Pant returned to professional cricket with IPL this year as he was involved in a fatal car accident in December 2022.

“Fake news. Why do you guys spread so much fake news on social media? Be sensible guys so bad. Don’t create an untrustworthy environment for no reason. It’s not the first time and won’t be the last but I had to put this out Please always re-check with your so-called sources. Every day it’s becoming worse. Rest it’s up to you guys. It wasn’t just for you it’s for a lot of people who are spreading misinformation. Tc,” Pant took to his official X account and wrote this.

He had a dream run after returning to IPL as he had scored 446 runs after playing in 13 matches at a staggering average of 40.54 and a strike rate of 155.40. But he couldn't help the team reach the playoffs and instead finished in the sixth position after winning seven matches of the 14 matches that they played and also scoring 14 points.

Sourav Ganguly to be DC's head coach for IPL 2025

Pant has been playing for DC ever since he made his IPL debut in 2016 and became the captain of the franchise in 2021 by replacing injured Shreyas Iyer. He didn't lead the team last year due to the injuries he sustained from the car accident and was replaced by David Warner.

At the same time, the franchise made some changes to the coaching staff before IPL 2025 as Sourav Ganguly replaced Ricky Ponting to be the head coach, who was bought by PBKS for IPL 2025. The BCCI will be revealing the retention rules soon for the mega auction of the next edition.
