IPL 2025 Mega Auction: Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer scripted history as they broke the time record on Sunday and became the two most expensive players in the history of the tournament. The ex-Delhi Capitals players were bought for Rs 27 and 26.75 crore by LSG and Punjab Kings.
Let's take a look at the five most expensive Indian players in the history of the tournament:
1. Rishabh Pant (LSG): Rs 27 crore
India's star wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant is all set to represent LSG in IPL 2025. The youngster, who was DC's most capped player and the highest run-getter in the history of the tournament, was bought for Rs 27 crore by LSG at the megas auction, which is currently being held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

2. Shreyas Iyer (PBKS): Rs 26.75 crore
Punjab Kings roped in IPL 2024-winning skipper Shreyas Iyer for a whopping amount of Rs 26.75 crore at the IPL 2025 mega auction. Iyer had led DC from IPL 2015 to IPL 2021 and also helped them to qualify for the summit clash. He was then bought by KKR for Rs 12.25 crore in the IPL 2022 mega auction but wasn't retained by them despite helping them lift the title in IPL 2024.
3. Venkatesh Iyer (KKR): Rs 23.75 crore
Madhya Pradesh's star all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer will continue to play for KKR in the next season. He was bought for a whopping amount of Rs 23.75 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction.
4. Arshdeep Singh (PBKS): Rs 18 crore
The Punjab-based franchise used its RTM card and brought back left-arm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh for Rs 18 crore in the mega auction. He made his IPL debut in 2019, while playing for PBKS and has played for them since then.
5. Yuzvendra Chahal (PBKS): Rs 18 crore
India's star spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who is the only one to have taken 200 wickets in the history of the tournament, would be representing PBKS in the next season after being bought for Rs 18 crore in the mega auction.
