What has come as good news for Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and his family is that both he and his wife were blessed with a baby boy on Friday, November 15th, according to Hindustan Times. They were expecting their second child and that is why Rohit didn't go to Perth for the first Test match against Australia.
India's Test skipper Rohit Sharma, was not part of the Indian team, which flew to Australia earlier this week for the upcoming five-match Test series against Australia. The series opener would be held at Perth and the warmup matches are being held in full swing as the Men in Blue were also involved in an intra-squad match at the WACA ground.
Due to this reason, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was all set to miss the series opener as he had also intimidated the BCCI about this in advance owing to personal reasons. And now as per reports, he has been blessed with a second child.

Rohit Sharma, Ritika welcome baby boy
Ritika Sajdeh, who is Rohit Sharma's wife was pregnant according to Hindustan Times, and was blessed with a baby boy on Friday in Mumbai. They were also blessed with their daughter named Samaira way back in 2018 and now after six years, they were blessed with their second baby. Rohit is still in India as he is on paternity leave.
It should be noted here that he didn't take a day's break on his paternity leave. He was seen attending a training session in Mumbai a few days back. He would be joining the Indian team before the second Test, which would be held at Adelaide Oval next month.
Jasprit Bumrah would be leading the side in the series opener in his absence and it would be either KL Rahul or Abhimanyu Easwaran, who would be opening the innings for India with Yashasvi Jaiswal.
It should be noted here that KL Rahul sustained an injury during the intra-squad match and had to leave the field halfway through the match. But as per reports, he was deemed fit for the series opener and his leaving the ground was a precautionary measure.
