South Africa T20 World Cup Squad: South Africa have made a couple of forced changes to their squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, which is scheduled to be played in India and Sri Lanka and will kick off on February 7. Ryan Rickelton and Tristan Stubbs have replaced Tony de Zorzi and Donovan Ferreira, who are both injured.
De Zorzi has not recovered from the hamstring tear he sustained in December in India, while Ferreira fractured his shoulder while fielding in a match during the ongoing SA20 tournament. South Africa is still waiting on the fitness of David Miller, who will not play the Eliminator match for the Paarl Royals against Joburg Super Kings.
On the other hand, Lungi Ngidi, who bowled only two overs for Pretoria Capitals in the qualifier against Sunrisers Eastern Cape, and Dewald Brevis, scored a match-winning 75 for the Capitals, suffered a finger injury. Brevis will have a scan on his finger on Thursday. Miller's absence is more concerning for the Proteas, considering the veteran's experience and ability to create game-changing impact with his finishing and power-hitting skills.

He left the field in the Royals' last league match of the SA20 with an adductor injury and will not be available for next week's T20Is against West Indies. The left-handed batter will require a fitness test ahead of South Africa's departure for the marquee tournament. His participation in the T20 World Cup is dependent on passing that test.

If Miller needs to be replaced, Rubin Hermann could be considered, after he was named in the side to play West Indies. Herman is the only non-T20 World Cup-bound player in the squad that will take on the West Indies.
Aiden Markram, Rickelton, Jason Smith, George Linde, Corbin Bosch and Kagiso Rabada will assemble in camp on Friday. The series against the West Indies is scheduled to start in Paarl on Tuesday. The second and third matches will be played on Thursday and Saturday on the Highveld before South Africa departs for the T20 World Cup.
