IND vs BAN, T20I: Ex-India cricketer Saba Karim wants Rinku Singh to be one of the openers along with Abhishek Sharma along with a three-match T20I series against Bangladesh. Karim reckoned that his brilliant batting would work well with Abhishek's aggressive style and they will become a formidable opening duo. He shared his opinions during an interaction on Jio Cinema, which was held on the sidelines of the ongoing second Test match between India and Bangladesh.

As per Karim, Rinku Singh's batting talent could be better used by promoting him to the batting lineup, especially as an opener. He emphasized how Rinku has mostly been underutilized as a lower-order batter since he usually comes into bat at the No.6 or No.7 position, and that gives him fewer chances to create a huge effect on the match.

"There is a strong possibility that we may see Rinku Singh along with Abhishek Sharma (open for India). Whatever opportunities Rinku has had so far on this side, he comes in number six or seven, and he hardly gets any balls to get himself in... Rinku, mind you, is quite a complete player. If he gets more opportunities, if he gets more deliveries to face, he can add more value to the side. So there is a strong possibility of having that combination," Saba Karim was quoted as saying on Jio Cinema.

Karim has revealed that if he bats as an opener, then he will get a chance to show his aggressive style of play and make significant contributions to the team.

Rinku is part of the 15-member team for the upcoming T20I series, under the guidance of Suryakumar Yadav, and will be held next month. This series will give him a good chance to solidify his position in the shortest format after not getting enough chances in the last few matches. In the last T20I series against Sri Lanka, Rinku batted as a lower-order batter and spent less time in the middle and that affected his ability to display his true self.

Saba Karim's idea can become a game-changer for Rinku as if he is promoted up the order, then it would not only improve his batting but would also give depth to the lineup, which will play a huge role in T20Is.
