Shreyas Iyer, India's star batter is currently in action in the Irani Cup 2024, playing for Mumbai against the Rest of India.

Shreyas is one of the few capped Indian stars participating in the all-important match being played at Lucknow's Ekana Cricket Stadium.

In a heartwarming turn of events, Shreyas, who currently is out of the Indian team's scheme of things in the red-ball format, came up with a brilliant gesture for the unprivileged children.

Notably, Iyer hid a few bottles of cold drinks underneath his practice kit and secretly handed them over to kids outside the stadium. He was also heard saying that it was too hot and the kids should enjoy it.

The video of Shreyas' gesture has gone viral on the internet. Having himself faced the wrath of the heat in the stadium, he thought the same for the underprivileged kids and went on to give them a cold drink by hiding it under the practice kit.

It is not the first time that Iyer's commendable gesture has become the talk of the town as he previously helped a financially stricken lady with money.

A few months ago, Shreyas, while being surrounded by fans for autographs and photographs, helped a poor woman by handing her some money at the end of the video.

Talking about the ongoing Irani Cup match, Shreyas looked in great touch and smashed a magnificent half-century.
