SL vs NZ, 2nd ODI Weather Report: Sri Lanka will lock horns with New Zealand for the 2nd ODI on Sunday. The thrilling match will be held at 2:30 p.m. IST in Pallekele. The hosts won the series opener held in Dambulla last week by 45 runs. While batting first on a batting-friendly pitch, Kusal Mendis and Avishka Fernando stitched a match-winning partnership of 206 runs for the second wicket.

Although Mendis scored a brilliant knock of 143 runs off 128 balls, Avishka too scored a century off 115 balls and helped the team post a mammoth target of 324/5.

But due to incessant rain, the match was shortened to 27 overs and the target was then revised to 221 runs for New Zealand. But the visitors were then skittled out for 175 runs and they thus lost the match by 45 runs. They will now aim to work on their batting strategy ahead of the mst-win 2nd ODI match in Pallekele.

The focus of the ongoing ODI series would now shift to Pallekele as the 2nd and the 3rd match would be held at this venue.

Weather report for SL vs NZ 2nd ODI

Pallekele will experience sunny and humid weather on Sunday, although it will rain for a while during the afternoon. As per Accuweather.com, the maximum temperature will be 31 degrees Celsius, with 38% humidity.

At the same time, there is a 72% chance of rainfall playing a spoilsport during the match with 42% cloud cover. The cold breeze will help the fast bowlers in the beginning with the new ball, but the wet outfield during the second innings will completely change the pitch conditions. That's why whichever captain wins the toss will choose to bowl first.

There are high chances that rain will spoil the 2nd ODI match between Sri Lanka and New Zealand. However, due to the brilliant drainage facilities of this venue, fans of both teams can still expect a full 100-over match.
