Ex-India cricketer Aakash Chopra has reckoned that the job of the Indian cricket team is quite difficult and it keeps the coach as busy as one person was back in his playing days, and sometimes more, and that's why ex-India skipper MS Dhoni won't take up that position even if he is offered that role.

The Men in Blue have had a topsy-turvy time under the guidance of their current head coach, Gautam Gambhir, and Dhoni won't be taking up that role despite being offered by the board since he is still playing with CSK during the IPL.

During an interaction on his YouTube channel, Chopra was asked whether Dhoni would become the head coach of the Indian team.

“That is a big one. I don’t think he is interested. Coaching is a difficult job. Coaching keeps you as busy as you were when playing and sometimes even more than that. You have a family and you say that you have done the same thing your entire life, you have lived your life out of a suitcase, and you don’t want to do that job now," Chopra was quoted as saying on his YouTube channel.

“That is why a lot of players don’t get into coaching, and even if they do, it’s a two-month IPL stint. However, if you become a full-time Indian head coach, it’s a commitment of 10 months a year," he said.

Chopra admitted that Dhoni might take this position if he wants to return something to Indian cricket.

At the same time, Dhoni, who was CSK's stand-in captain during the IPL this year, as they finished at the bottom of the points table, acknowledged that there were some gaps to fill in the side, and that would be their priority during the mini auction for the next season.

Before the next season starts, when most of the teams will be formidable sides, the Chennai-based franchise will face a daunting task of building a good team.
