South Africa's young batting sensation Dewald Brevis finally earned his maiden call-up to the national side as he has been included in the squads for both home ODI and T20I series against Australia.
The Proteas announced the squads on Monday for the series that begins with the three T20Is starting on August 30, followed by a five-match ODI series that will culminate on September 17.

The 20-year-olf first came into the limelight during the Under-19 World Cup in 2022 as he finished as the top run-getter with 506 runs to his name in the tournament. He has already featured in multiple franchise competitions around the world.
Popularly known as 'Baby AB' (a little comparison for his playing resemblance to SA legend AB de Villiers), Brevis was bought by the Mumbai Indians in the 2022 Indian Premier League auction.
The T20 squad also includes two other uncapped batters in Donovan Ferreira and Matthew Breetzke, as well as fast bowler Gerald Coetzee. The 22-year-old Coetzee has played Tests and ODIs for South Africa but is yet to make his T20I debut.
The senior left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj, who has been out of action since rupturing his left Achilles tendon during the Test series against West Indies in March, also makes his return. He is in the squad for the second and third T20Is as well as the ODIs.
Test and ODI skipper Temba Bavuma, who was dropped from South Africa's T20I squad for the home series against West Indies earlier this year, has been recalled to the side for the shortest format as well.
The likes of Quinton de Kock, Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, Anrich Nortje, and Kagiso Rabada have been rested for the T20I series but will be available for the ODIs.
Cricket South Africa (CSA) is expected to announce South Africa's final squad for the upcoming ODI World Cup on September 5.
