Asia Cup 2025: It has been a long time since India's T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav was last seen in action. He had represented Mumbai Indians during IPL 2025, where they lost to Punjab Kings during the second qualifier.
And just after the IPL, he had to undergo surgery for a sports hernia on his lower right abdomen, and since then, he has made a quick recovery. He was seen attending a Wimbledon match and then checked into BCCI's NCA to get fully fit last month.
He has been continuously posting videos of the practice session, and on Friday, posted a video of himself lifting weights.

SKY To Lead?
Yadav has led India in the shortest format for a while, and there are high chances that he will continue to do the same during the upcoming Asia Cup, which will be held next month. But in order to do that, he would have to regain full fitness and clear the fitness test, and if he does so, then he would be made the captain of the side, which would be announced later this month.

Asia Cup 2025 Schedule
The upcoming continental tournament will be played in the UAE next month, where Afghanistan will lock horns with Hong Kong in Abu Dhabi during the tournament opener. The Men in Blue will face the host during their first match in Dubai. Initially, the Asia Cup 2025 was supposed to be held in India, but owing to political tensions with Pakistan, the venue was shifted to the UAE.
India, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, UAE, Hong Kong, and Oman would be seen in action in this tournament. All these teams have been divided into two groups of four, where arch-rivals India and Pakistan are in the same group.
The top two teams from each group would then qualify for the Super 4 stage and would then play in the summit clash.
