ICC T20 World Cup Points Table 2024: Indian bowlers, led by the outstanding Jasprit Bumrah, delivered a collectively brilliant performance, securing a thrilling six-run victory over Pakistan in a low-scoring T20 World Cup match on Sunday. Bumrah's impressive figures of 3/14 and Hardik Pandya's 2/24 played pivotal roles in defending a modest total of 120, ultimately restricting Pakistan to 113 for seven.
Earlier in the day, Pakistani pacers Naseem Shah and Mohammad Amir showcased their skill with the ball, bowling out India for 119 amidst a couple of rain interruptions. Naseem Shah, with figures of 3/21, and Mohammad Amir, who took 2/23, effectively exploited the slightly two-paced pitch, putting a significant brake on India's batting momentum. However, Rishabh Pant managed to shine with a knock of 42 off 31 balls, including six boundaries, providing a few breathtaking moments.
Despite the challenging conditions and interruptions, it was the Indian bowlers who turned the tide. Bumrah and Pandya's disciplined and incisive bowling ensured that Pakistan fell just short, securing a memorable victory for India in this high-stakes encounter.
With this victory, India has set a strong foundation for their T20 World Cup campaign. The team's comprehensive performance with both bat and ball will boost their confidence as they prepare for their next match against USA on June 12.
