T20 World Cup 2024: Soon after India's memorable title win in the T20 World Cup 2024, ICC announced the team of the tournament which included six players of the Men in Blue including skipper Rohit Sharma.

India defeated South Africa in the final of the marquee tournament in Barbados on Saturday to clinch their second T20 World Cup title, having won the first 17 years ago in 2007.

The Men in Blue remained the only unbeaten side throughout the campaign and ended the 11-year-long and frustrating wait for an ICC trophy.

Rohit, who also was named captain of the team of the tournament, had a brilliant tournament as he smashed 257 runs in eight matches at an average of 36.71.

Suryakumar Yadav is the second Indian player named in the side, placed for the no.4 role, having finished the tournament with 199 runs in eight matches.

He ended up taking an exceptional match-winning catch on the boundary line in the final against the Proteas.

India's star all-rounder Hardik Pandya remained the most talked-about player in the tournament, considering the tough past few months he had including a horrible IPL 2024 as the new skipper of Mumbai Indians.

He made it all count with the national side and played a huge hand in India's title triumph with 144 runs and 11 wickets in eight games.

Axar Patel built a reputation to contribute in every way possible throughout the tournament and successfully made it to the team of the tournament on the back of his 92 runs and nine wickets.

Jasprit Bumrah undoubtedly emerged as the best bowler of the tournament and came up with top-notch efforts in every game he played.

Bumrah picked up 15 wickets in eight matches at an average of just 8.27 and was adjudged as the Player of the Tournament.

Arshdeep Singh finished the tournament as India's leading wicket-taker, having found 17 scalps in eight matches.

Rohit is joined at the top order by Afghanistan's star batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who finished as the tournament's highest run-getter.

Gurbaz ended the tournament with 281 runs to his name in eight matches at an average of 35.12, playing a key role in Afghanistan's journey to the semi-final.

West Indies' Nicholas Pooran is named the no.3 batter in the side for his memorable campaign, having smashed 228 runs in seven matches. He had a strike rate of 146.15 and smashed most sixes (!7) in the tournament.

Australia's Marcus Stoinis and Afghanistan skipper Rashid Khan and star pacer Fazalhaq Farooqi are the remaining players who were named in the team of the tournament for the T20 World Cup 2024.

Stoinis contributed with 169 runs and 10 wickets but despite his all-round effort, Australia couldn't make it to the semi-finals.

Farooqi finished the tournament's leading wicket-taker with 17 wickets to his name in 8 matches whereas Rashid played a vital hand in making the campaign a memorable one for Afghanistan.

He ended up taking 14 wickets at an average of 12.79 and led his side to their first-ever World Cup semi-final.

South Africa, who finished as the runners-up, had Anrich Nortje named as the 12th man in the team of the tournament for his magnificent performance with the ball.

Nortje put up an outstanding effort for the Proteas, having taken 15 wickets at an average of 13.40 and an economy rate under six.

Notably, players from four different nations have been named in the Team of the Tournament for the T20 World Cup 2024 which took place in the USA and the West Indies.

The selection panel consisted of commentators Harsha Bhogle, Ian Bishop, Kass Naidoo and ICC General Manager of Cricket Wasim Khan.
