T20 World Cup 2024 Warm-Up Match, Ind vs Ban: The Men in Blue have ticked a lot of boxes after beating Bangladesh by 60 runs in the warm-up match on Saturday on the back of a brilliant half-century by Rishabh Pant, who has all but booked his place as the first-choice wicket-keeper batter in the tournament.

Pant scored a match-winning knock of 53 runs on his comeback India match, after being involved in a fatal car accident in December 2022 and then Hardik scored a gritty knock of 40 runs and helped the team post a respectable target of 182/5 while batting first.

The Rohit Sharma-led side didn’t face any trouble as pacer Arshdeep Singh was the pick among the bowlers and helped the team restrict Bangladesh to 122/9.

Mahmudullah Riyaz (40) and Sakib-al-Hasan did (28) helped the team bounce back as they stitched a partnership of 75 runs for the sixth wicket.

This partnership only helped them to lessen the margin of their loss as they were reeling at 41/5.

Arshdeep, who had an underwhelming outing in IPL 2024, took two wickets within the Powerplay, where he dismissed Soumya Sarkar, who was caught behind by Pant and Litton Das.

Pacer Mohammed Siraj then dismissed Bangladesh skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto for a duck and they were reeling at 10/3 in 3.5 overs. It was all but over for the Bangladesh batters to then play against a formidable bowling attack, who bowled with great varieties.

The Indian bowlers used the slow pitch brilliantly and the sluggish outfield also helped them as the ball wasn’t rolling that much. Pacer Shivam Dube took two wickets apiece.

This loss is a continuation of gloomy preparation for the tournament for the Najmul Hossain-led side as they came into this match after losing a three-match T20I series against the USA.

Brief Scores:
India: 182 for 5 in 20 overs (Rishabh Pant 53 retired out, Hardik Pandya 40 not out; Mahmudullah 1/16).
Bangladesh: 122 for 8 in 20 overs (Mahmudullah 40, Arshdeep Singh 2/13, Shivam Dube 2/11)
