PBKS vs RCB IPL 2026: Virat Kohli dazzled again, following his explosive hundred against Kolkata Knight Riders in the previous match. Displaying relentless form against the Punjab-based franchise, Kohli launched a swift assault, intensifying pressure on the bowlers and asserting his dominance. The ex-RCB skipper rotated strike seamlessly and energized the scorecard.

Alongside fierce batting, Kohli showcased his signature aggression. The high-octane clash saw the experienced batter heatedly engage with PBKS spinner Harpreet Brar.

The confrontation unfolded in the ninth over, when Azmatullah Omarzai bowled a lengthy delivery, provoking Kohli. Kohli attempted a brisk single, but Devdutt Padikkal at the non-striker’s end promptly denied it as Brar sprinted toward the ball. Kohli, halfway down the pitch, found himself momentarily stranded.

Kohli remained composed and stared down Brar, challenging him to aim for the stumps. Brar withheld his throw, aware that a misfire could result in an overthrow and gift extra runs. With PBKS already criticized for poor fielding, he avoided a risky play during this pivotal moment.

Meanwhile, Brar unleashed fierce celebrations after dismissing Jacob Bethell and Devdutt Padikkal.

Kohli was seen smiling and tried to initiate a conversation with Brar after the 14th over, but Brar chose not to respond.

It wasn't the first time Kohli and Brar had been involved in a heated exchange. They were involved in an exchange during IPL 2025 as well, where Kohli started the conversation, and Brar just smiled at him instead of saying anything.

While chasing, Kohli was heard as saying, "20 saal ho gaye cricket khelte hue, aese stump thodi na ho jaunga. Tere coach ko bhi janta hoon (I’ve been playing cricket for 20 years, I’m not going to get out like that. I even know your coach).” The PBKS bowler couldn't stop himself from smiling at this conversation.

Virat Kohli smashes a fifty

The star RCB batter maintained his sublime momentum, hammering a dazzling fifty from just 31 balls against the Shreyas Iyer-led side. He launched a relentless attack, hitting four consecutive boundaries and anchoring one end. Kohli’s knock accelerated the Bengaluru franchise’s scoring at a crucial point. His innings ended when Yuzvendra Chahal dismissed him for 58 off 38 balls.

Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bowl first in the match, where his team desperately needs a win. Meanwhile, the Bengaluru-based franchise is missing regular captain Rajat Patidar, who skipped the game due to injury, with Jitesh Sharma acting as stand-in skipper.
