Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Delhi Capitals: Former India cricketer Sanjay Bangar feels that Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star batter Virat Kohli will be up and about against Delhi Capitals (DC) star KL Rahul in response to his celebration at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Bangar stated that Kohli might aim for a similar impactful moment on his home ground, reminiscent of Rahul's gesture after his match-winning innings against RCB on April 10, where he scored an unbeaten 93 off 53 balls and celebrated as if Chinnaswamy was his "home turf."
The upcoming match today, April 27, between RCB and DC at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi offers Kohli this opportunity. Speaking to Star Sports, Bangar suggested that Kohli might even elevate his response by gesturing towards the stand named after him at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
Bangar noted Kohli's competitive nature and his likely desire to make a memorable statement, especially given his strong form this season.
"I think Virat would do a little bit differently. I think he will show that, 'OK, that pavilion in which you're sitting, it's mine'. Who's the boss? Virat is the boss there," Bangar said.
Both KL Rahul and Virat Kohli have been standout performers in IPL 2025. KL Rahul has scored 323 runs in seven matches for DC, while Virat Kohli has accumulated 392 runs in nine matches for RCB, placing him prominently in the Orange Cap race.
Beyond this individual rivalry, the match today also holds significance in the context of the IPL 2025 standings. Both Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru are currently tied with 12 points. However, Delhi Capitals hold the second position due to having played one fewer game than Bengaluru.
