India wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul and his wife Athiya Shetty hosted a charity auction, "Cricket For a Cause," featuring exclusive items from cricket legends, including star batter Virat Kohli's jersey and former India captain MS Dhoni's bat. The event aimed to raise funds for the Vipla Foundation, which strives to provide quality education to disadvantaged children. The auction showcased iconic cricket memorabilia, with Kohli's jersey and Dhoni's bat being top attractions, ultimately contributing to a noble cause.

The auction featured items donated by prominent cricketers, including Virat Kohli's jersey, which sold for a staggering Rs 40 lakh, making it the highest-selling item. MS Dhoni's bat and gloves were also auctioned, with the gloves fetching Rs 28 lakh. The event saw enthusiastic bidding for these unique items, with several international cricketers contributing to the noble cause.

MS Dhoni's autographed batting gloves and bat added significantly to the fundraising total, selling for Rs 3,50,000 and Rs 13,00,000 respectively. Additionally, items from India captain Rohit Sharma, including his signed bat and gloves, were also auctioned off, raising Rs 24,00,000 and Rs 7,50,000 respectively, further supporting the noble cause of providing quality education to underprivileged children through the Vipla Foundation.

A host of Indian cricketers, including Yuzvendra Chahal, Rahul Dravid, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, Sanju Samson, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Shreyas Iyer, joined forces with the star trio to support the noble cause.

They were also joined by international cricketers Jos Buttler, Quinton de Kock, Nicholas Pooran, and Marcus Stoinis, who generously donated items for the auction.

The collective efforts of these cricketers resulted in a staggering total of ₹1.93 crore being raised for the Vipla Foundation.

Following the successful "Cricket For a Cause" auction, KL Rahul expressed his heartfelt connection to the noble cause, stating that it holds a special place in his heart.

“The proceeds from this auction will go directly towards supporting the Vipla Foundation's special school for hearing-impaired and intellectually disabled children, a cause that is incredibly close to my heart,” Rahul was quoted as saying by TOI.
