DPL 2025: A new Kohli has emerged in town. Star India batter Virat Kohli's nephew Aryaveer Kohli was seen attending a practice session without any pressure of having a famous surname, as he begins to create his path. Just like his uncle, he too wants to become a professional cricketer, but the youngster aspires to be a legspinner.
In order to achieve this goal, the youngster was seen attending a training session under the guidance of Delhi coach Sarandeep Singh.
“Aryaveer Kohli is a rising star. He’s quite young," Sarandeep was quoted as saying to PTI.
“There’s no baggage of the surname on the young lad. He’s a really good and talented kid. He’s been practising and putting in the hard work," he said.

Who Is Aryaveer Kohli?
Aryaveer, who is considered an upcoming legspinner, is Virat's elder brother Vikas' son. The youngster would be seen in action during the second edition of the Delhi Premier League, which is a state-level T20 tournament that began in 2024 and gave a foundation to players like Digvesh Rathi and Priyansh Arya, who first gained prominence in this tournament and then got their IPL contracts.
South Delhi Superstarz roped in Aryaveer during the DPL auction and would be playing with Digveesh, who was one of the most expensive players of the tournament during the auction, as he was bought for a whopping amount of Rs 38 lakhs.
When Will Virat Kohli Next Play For India?
Virat Kohli, who announced his retirement from T20Is and Tests, would now play for India only in the 50-over format. Currently, he is residing in London with his family, and he was supposed to be seen in action during the white-ball series against Bangladesh next month. But since this series has been put on hold for a year, his comeback to the national side has thus been delayed.
But the Sri Lankan cricket board has requested the BCCI to organise a white-ball series next month, and if everything goes according to plan, then Kohli would be seen in action representing the country.
